Five rounds have been played at the European Team Chess Championship 2025, and the tournament has reached its midpoint. Heading into the sixth round, Ukraine emerged as the sole leader of the Open section, while Poland took the sole lead in the Women’s Championship.

The team of Ukraine defeated the defending champions Serbia, while the Netherlands scored a narrow 2.5–1.5 victory over Spain. France also claimed an important win against the higher-rated England team.

With these results, the Netherlands, Serbia, and France now share second place with 8 match points each, trailing the leader Ukraine by just one point.

In the Women’s section, Poland took the sole lead after defeating Germany. Georgia 1 won their match against France, and Ukraine scored a convincing 3–1 victory over Bulgaria.

After five rounds, Georgia 1, Germany, and Ukraine all have 8 match points, tying for second place behind the leading Poland.

The games of the next round will start at 15:00 in local time.
